Guest Post - Run. Influence. Change the world with Run 10 Feed 10.

Hey NeverEver's,

Its Tuesday! One day closer to the weekend of course ^_^. But today is also Guest Post day. And with this one...well this one is something we can all do. The Run 10 Feed 10 is an amazing run that help give 10 meals to people that are in need.

It doesn't matter how fast you go or if you have ever run a 10k before (you all know I haven't) but we can all do it! Or we can help with the fundraising.

Read on!

Run. Influence. Change the world with Run 10 Feed 10.

Think about the last time you said, “I’m starving.” Were you (really)? Think about what it feels like to be
hungry. Think about what it feels like to run. Hungry=negative, painful empty tummy. Running=positive,
energized body. Do you do both? I don’t, but I have that choice. I also have the choice to counter the
negative (hunger) with the positive (running) by participating in Run 10 Feed 10.

What’s all the hype about? Millions (like 50 million) people or more are hungry. 17 million of those
people are children. Children! In the US, 1 in 6 American children are wondering when they will get their
next meal. Think about six kids who you know; yup, one of them might be the victim of hunger, which
may impact their growth, strength and ability to learn. NO! These children are our future. These children
may care for us when we’re old. So stand up, lace up those sneakers and help our future Americans
while we still have the power to take action! Help them get fed. Help them not worry about food.

Yes, you! That’s right join the Run 10 Feed 10 initiative with Women’s Health and the FEED Foundation
(www.thefeedfoundation.org) to fight domestic hunger. I know, you’re asking what that even means.
Well, it’s as simple as lacing up your sneakers. By running a 10k at one of the seven events throughout
the United States (or you can even sign up to run your own), you provide meals to ten people in your
community. Hunger is a global problem, but a solvable one.

Run 10 Feed 10 PSA 2013

Want to know more about the FEED Foundation? The FEED foundation is an organization started by
Lauren Bush Lauren, grand-daughter of former President George W. Bush and wife of David Lauren.  The
FEED foundation is dedicated to the mission of providing meals for people throughout the globe. Even
in America, there is a hunger problem. 1 in 5 children do not know where their next meal is coming
from.   As of 2011, the FEED foundation has provided 60 million free meals to children around the globe
through their FEED Projects which includes partnerships with companies like Target, Disney, DKNY, and
more.  Women’s Health is super proud to work with an organization like FEED.  The money you raise
goes directly to a local charity in your hometown filtered through the foundation.

I, Women’s Health and the FEED Foundation need your help. It’s as simple as registering online.

Monday Weigh In

Hey NeverEver's,

Welcome to Monday. It was the first Monday since I have been better and I had a plan to follow. So how did I do?

Well I didn't go swimming like I said I would. I had a small coughing attack in the morning and just couldn't get up in the morning. So swimming just wasn't happening this morning.

However, I made up for it during my lunch. But before I get into that...lets get into the Weigh In!

8/12/2013

Now to the current weight!!!

8/26/2013

198.0!!!

Yes I lost weight! I didn't gain during my sodium filled days of soup and more soup!

I am quite happy...no I am ecstatic with myself and that number!

Now before I get into Today's Workouts. I want to to do a little bit about my 5K yesterday!

I was waiting for the sun to go down. This run was done by Helping Hands 4 Life. I just loved the idea of running for one of the original woman super heros. Plus it was only $30 and the medal was awesome so I couldn't pass it up.

I wasn't able to run as much as I wanted to do. I did more power walk then anything else but I was able to do all 3 miles in 45:22 minutes. Which I am pretty darn satisfied with that.

Cannot wait to show you guys the medal when it gets here!!!

Ok on to Today's Workout.

I did a lunch workout!!! Yes the first time in the LONGEST time and it felt awesome. I was also sweating buckets so that was tons of fun.

Now as I did the Shakeology Cleanse before, I know for myself that I have to the salad for lunch or I just don't make it through the day. So I switch that up (and it is allowed) and it works for me.

Had my 2nd shakeology drink and the grapes for a snack before leaving for my rowing class!

Yes I really do LOVE this view! It is amazing, the sea breeze, light, and just plain blissfulness! But then it was time to get down o business.

Rowing class was brought to me by Elizabeth from Roworx. She is Awesome with a capital 'A'. Really worked out my whole body, legs, arms, core and butt...nothing was missed! Which is why the rowing machine is one of my favorite machines EVER!

If you are in the Long Beach area (or if you have a rowing class near you) you MUST check this place out! Awesome Fun!

So I just had my last shakeology drink for the night. I also had a cup of Blueberries right after the workout itself.

And lookie what I am starting again. Yup I am wearing my body media again and I am tracking with it. Didn't QUITE make it to my calorie burn goal but I am decently off. Tomorrow is another day.

Okay NeverEver's, it is time for be to get to bed. I am tired and I still need to take a shower. Soo have a wonderful night and I will see you all tomorrow for Guest Post Tuesday! I have an awesome one for you guys!

Camping, Sunburns and Color, oh my!

Hey NeverEver's!

If you haven't already seen me all burnt up don't worry your chance is below ^_~. No but seriously, never confuse bug replant with SPF. NEVER. Especially if you are going to be on a 12 mile hike and your SPF is back at the camp ground. Just warning you all.

I really hate burning. I don't like it and am usually pretty good with the SPF. I learned my lesson (or so I thought) about 4 years ago when I ended up with 2nd degree burns on the 4th of July. That day I didn't have any SPF on and it didn't end pretty. So after that pain and scare I am pretty good. Except when I think I already put it on and I didn't.

Anyways, I want to get on to the camping. It was wonderful! So Beautiful! Lassen Volcanic Mountains is a sight to behold. A 9ish hour drive to get there but a sight to behold.

Hubby and I are definitely going back. We are planning next year on a 3 day weekend and kidnapping most of the family to take with us. Also, holding them hostage for gas money but that is a different story.

To be honest I haven't weighed myself. I have been feeling really tired with the sun burn and still unpacking. As it is already the end of Tuesday I am going to hold off for this week. Lets start the weigh in again on Monday. Just wanted to let you all know that ^_^.

I do have a treat for you guys as well. And it is more then just my Giveaway (which is ending tomorrow fyi). I have a discount off a 5k!

Yup the Color My Rad 5k is currently offering 20% off any of their races from now to Wednesday. Which is pretty awesome, if you ask me. All you need to do is place in the promo code ' radfun ' and you get it. Simple! I signed up for their 5k next year, I already had another one of the date this year, and I choose to go to a city I never been in. Sacramento. Yup, I am going to be running in my states capital. Always driven by never in so it is going to be interesting ^_~.

Besides Color Run's are so much fun and after looking at all the pictures I can't help but want to run in the color again.

Okay NeverEver's, I am getting ready to head to bed. Have to be honest this burn...this burn hurts and is just sucking all the energy out from me. Plus I can only get my arms to work like a T-Rex so reaching for stuff is out of the question. Thank goodness it is only going to last a day or two more.

Where do you guys like to camp at? Color Run's your thing (I swear you should try it ^_^)?

WIAW

Hey NeverEver's!!

Its Wednesday finally! YAY. Hump Day...only 2 days until the weekend! Plus I didn't have any food slip up's which makes today awesome!

Today, with my umm slip up yesterday, I decided to do a WIAW or What I Ate Wednesday. It was my way of making sure I didn't eat anything that I shouldn't have. Because, it is so easy to make 1 bad mistake into a bigger one by continuing it. So lets see what I ate ^_~

Started the day with some coffee and an apple.

Plus I got my water in. This was my first one!

Then it was my Lunch Run and my Lunch. Did a run with walking with some hills. I think my next 5K is going to be a little hilly so I want to be able to power walk up those sucks.

However, for Lunch I went with my Spinach Salad with Apples. It is delicious and very filling. Water to Drink ^_~

Got my 2nd water bottle of the day. Still trying to drink 3 of these things while I am at work.

Was feeling the hunger so I reached for one of my snacks. 1 cup of grapes. It is such an easy go to snack. Love it, especially when I am busy at work.

However, I did come home super hungry! If I wasn't so busy at work I would have had my other snack but just didn't have time. So when I found out that the Mother in Law was making Sopes I was SOO happy!

This is how it looked at the end. Added some of the guacamole and lots of spinach. They were so yummy! Exactly what I was needing by the end of the day.

Then it was time for the night workout. It was back to Cardio Workout and Hubby challenged me to wear weights through out the whole DVD. So I had the wrist weights and Hubby did the hand held. It really did make a workout that is becoming easier...suddenly harder. I was sweating by the end...really sweating.

Then I surprised the Hubby with a Night Walk! It was really nice out and a good way to cool down from that sweaty Hip Hop Ab's. Hubby did a nice walk while I had to power walk to make sure I didn't fall behind.

So NeverEver's, that is my WIAW. I am quite happy with it and even happier that I didn't allow a bad decision to effect the rest of my week. It is time for me to call it a night!

Do you take pictures of your food? Does it help you keep track of what you are eating?

High Points = The Workouts?!?

Hey NeverEver's!!

Tuesday..its Tuesday. What happened I was going through all day thinking it was Wednesday. Yes it was one of those days! And I even had breakfast ^_^.

But I have to say that I am really happy its not Wednesday. Because the Hubby's birthday is on Wednesday and I just NOW got the cake. Trying this Cuban Banana Rum Cake. Never had it before but it has lots of fruit on top, a whole mango, and that is what he likes. Pictures tomorrow! It currently hiding at my cousins house...since the Hubby would totally peek if it was in the kitchen.

So now that I got the cake out of the way. Lets get on to the workouts of the day ^_~

The day was SUPPOSED to start the day with Boot Camp. Well that didn't happen. Nope I slept in. To be honest I am not sure if it was my body telling me that I needed to sleep or if it just the habit of actually sleeping to the last minute. My bet would be a little bit of both. But I will be there on Thursday. Especially since there is cake on Wednesday!!

But my day got better as it went on. I got my lunch run on and I did the whole 1.55 miles for my 5K training plan! I am feeling pretty comfortable with running for longer periods and not having to take as many 'walking breaks'. My right arm did get a little 'pinch' but I was able to move it around where it didn't bug me any longer.

I will tell you I was sweating by the end of it. Not sure if you can see but there is drops of sweat on my forehead. AND there was a fan in the workout room today. I am loving the feeling of pushing my body to my known limits and seeing that I can handle it. It's a good...no Great feeling!

Then there was the evening Hip Hop Ab's with the Hubby! I was the one to push him to workout instead of him pushing me. I know he isn't going to want to workout tomorrow as its his birthday. I gave him the options. Either he workouts today or he has to workout tomorrow. That got him up and going.

Tonight's workout I do have to say it was harder today. We are still doing the Cardio Burn 1 and haven't moved up (Hubby wants to do it next week -_-). I am guessing that I am working the same muscles so they are getting just a little sore. So I had to push a little harder and it felt all that much better when it was finally the 'cool down'.

But tonight's workout isn't the only thing I had to get my workout clothes ready for the rest of the week at work! I love how I have enough workout outfits that I can actually color code and match ^_^. Makes me feel like such an exerciser!

Really these were the high points of my day. Which still continues to surprise me. The fact that I look forward to working out (on most days) and they have become high points in my life.

But now its time for bed. Feeling tired and I just finished watching America's Got Talent.

Do you have enough workout clothes to color code? What is your secret to waking up early?

Summer is Here - July

Hey NeverEver's!

July is almost here. In fact its just a day away. I really can't believe that 7 months have passed sense the beginning of the year. 7 months of 5k's, exercises, back sliding, new jobs, started beachbody, got into shakeology and growing this blog. Its been an exciting 7 months and I really can't wait to see how the rest of the year goes!!

With that being said...let me introduce you to July's Calendar!

Isn't it so cute! I found it at http://hellocuteness.com/freebies/2013-calendars/. I wish I found this place sooner but now I found it...its here to stay!

So as you can see from July 4th to the 7th I don't have any exercises planned. The reason is because of Anime Expo. It is something the Hubby and I do every year.

Here we are from last year! This year I am not dressing up this year but Hubby is. Can't wait to show everyone. Can't so now apparently, the Hubby doesn't want it shown until its ready ^_^.

There is also another change that I have been thinking about for a while. To Gym or not to Gym...that is the question.

And I have decided to suspend or quit my gym membership for now. I have very good reasons as to why I am going to try and suspend and if that isn't possible quit the gym.

  • I have a Treadmill at work and I am actually using it (mostly)
  • I want to finish 30 days of Hip Hop Ab's - And after that I got Slim in 6
  • I have good outside weather to workout in
  • I haven't been to the gym in 2 months
I also have another reason as to why I want to suspend or quit the gym.

  • I just got a 4 week Boot Camp Program from Groupon with Live in Fit

I just want to know how I am going to survive waking up early enough to get to the 4:45 am class. Oy NeverEver's give me strength!

I will find out on Monday if I can suspend or if I have to quit. Really I don't want to quit the gym, I just don't want to keep paying for something that I am just not using.

What else does July have planned for me?

Well the Hubby's Birthday is on the 10th and I have something planned for him on the 12th. Hopefully, everything will go well ^_^.

I am also going to be training for my next 5k which is on August 17th. The Ready, Set, Glow 5k. Still can't believe that this race will be my 8th 5k this year. Only have 5 more to go to complete the 13 in 2013 challenge.

I did decide to do a training plan for this upcoming run. It seemed time to get serious about running my 5k's instead of just 'running' them. I already got my mile down from 16 minutes to 12 minutes and I am sure I can get it down more. So here is my Running Plan!

I got this training plan from Hal Higdon. I almost did the 'Intermediate' Training Plan but after really thinking about it...I am still a beginner. This is the first year I have ever ran before and while I am liking it, I don't want to kill myself or make me hate it.

Also, I loved that this plan also had Friday as a rest day as that is exactly the day I want as my rest day ^_^

So this is my plan for July. It is going to be a busy month and it looks like its all under control. I just hope the heat doesn't get to bad...I know its wishful thinking. At least the Hubby got the AC unit in yesterday.

Okay NeverEver's, So what is your plan for July? How do you feel about the gym?

I Actually Ran Today

Hey NeverEver's,

Welcome to Monday! Did you have a good one? I had a pretty exciting one and it started with me getting a second interview. I have all my fingers and toes and really pretty much everything else crossed. Plus it was my first day getting back to my normal 8 hours of sleep. Or at least really close to 8 hours that my body was super happy!

So it was a pretty good day. Plus I went over to Fresh & Easy for some supplies. Lots of veggies, fruits and greens filled my cart. The best part...I was able to get it ALL under $70! Which is amazing for my bottom line & my fridge! I did try the Dr. Oz Green Drink today. I think I added too much ginger so it wasn't perfect but it was something that I will be making again.

However, going to Fresh and Easy wasn't the highlight of my night. Oh no that came after I got home. I had about an 1 1/2 before the Biggest Loser was on and I knew what I had to do. I had to stick with my calendar...and it said that Monday's was a Free Run day.

Now, when I created it I assumed that when I wrote Free Run, it really meant walking with a little bit of jogging thrown in. BUT, tonight ALL of that changed.

I actually RAN!

Yes you read that right. I RAN. And I am talking about all out running like you are running to stop your car from getting a ticket. Hauling it!

Now I was only able to do it for around 20 seconds. BUT that is 20 more seconds then I was EVER able to do it. I was also only able to do it 3 times but again that is more then ever before.

Did I mention that while I was running I was able to complete a mile in 15"02! Yup that is right my mile is getting faster!!

After not running for 11 days and not working out for 7 days it hit me hard. I am basically starting all over again. This doesn't make me happy but I WILL not dwell on it. Because if I do that I know I will just continue to think about it and wont do anything.

So, I am back on track and I am looking forward to making those results happen.

See you all tomorrow NeverEver's! Don't forget if you fall down, just get back up again. You control it!

The Color Run!

Hey NeverEver's!

I can't believe that I ran the Color Run 2 days ago and I have yet to tell you all about it! Not sure where my computer inspiration has gone but I will be getting it back! Even if I have to force it ^_^

So the Color Run. It was AWESOME! So much Color...I didn't except to see so much of it. If you haven't already ran one of these you have to do it! I didn't even feel like I was running...it was that awesome!

But lets have the pictures tell the story ^_^

2/2/2013 The Color Run at Dodger Stadium Los Angeles, Ca

So many people...I got lost trying to look for my team members. I was trying to text them ^_^

Just a small (really small) portion of the crowd. But everyone has so much energy!

Another picture of beautiful me!

Ah! Found my team members!

Couldn't resist the photo op!

Right before the race started we were all throwing color. I wasn't expecting it ^_~

And we are off!

After I ran through the Blue Color Patch.

And this is what I saw while running through the Orange Color Patch ^_^

After the Orange Color Patch. Side note...I do NOT look awesome w/ a mustache!

The finish line was almost there. So many people throwing color to celebrate!

And I finished it. My time was 38.47 tracked by Nike+. I couldn't, and still can't, believe that I beat my old 5k time by 10 minutes! Almost to the second!

I am such a great poser aren't I!?!? But I finished it and I was excited.

That NeverEver's is the picture monologue of the Color Run. It was awesome...it was colorful...and I even got the Hubby to say he will do one next year w/ me (shocked I was).

Again sorry for not showing these to you earlier...I have just been dreading to even look at the computer. Promise that I am making a dedicated effort to be back with all of you, and myself. I am even getting ready for the SuperBowl pictures for tomorrow. Although, what I really want to share with you all is the food ^_~

Have a warm and great Tuesday NeverEver's, I will see you all tomorrow!
