Gym, Dinner and Evening Walk

Hey NeverEver's!

I made it to the gym again this morning! Yup, second day of working out in the morning...which means I am waking up early in the morning! They say it takes 3 weeks to make something into a habit so lets see what happens the next three weeks.

Anyways, this will not be a super long post. I am way to distracted by the really nice walking weather outside. But, I have to let my food digest and I really wanted to show you my cooking tonight!

I call it...Turkeyburger Helper! Okay, its a horrible horrible name but I got the idea from hamburger helper as you will see ^_^.

I had some Turkey left over and I didn't want to make turkey meatballs so I decided to go simple. A healthy version of Hamburger Helper and above is what I came up with!

The pasta was left over, I seriously can't remember what this type of pasta is called, but it was wheat. And the sauce I used sun-dried tomatoes and basil with EVOO. It was a really tasty combination and something that I shall be cooking again!

The family loved it, even my father in law who doesn't like ANY greens on his plate. Plus there was enough left over for lunch tomorrow!

Which is good because apparently my temp assignment might be lasting longer then the original 2 weeks. Of course this is awesome because my 24 Hour is literally 2 exits before work or 2 exits before I get on the freeway home. I can't miss it even if I wanted to!

Daily Stats Day 63:

Look at those stats. Second day back in the gym, after a LONG hiatus, and I make it in there two times in one day! Have to say that those stats look pretty good! This is a really good start to the Fall Season!

Okay NeverEver's, sorry if I rambled today...I re-read what I wrote and fixed things up and I STILL feel like I am rambling, possible its a mood. Anyways, I am leaving you with this as it is time for my Evening Walk. I found it and it really hit me:

Lunch and Dinner is Made! Day 49 - 50

Hey NeverEver's

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday with a post. I really need to get someone else has my internet provider...it kept going in and out. Very annoying and not helpful at all when trying to write my blog post!

Anyways, I have not being doing all that great on the whole 'no processed foods' idea. It is harder then I thought especially since I didn't go to Fresh and Easy yesterday. I did go today though and picked up some peaches and chicken.

I did have a good breakfast yesterday. The tea, chamomile, was a nice change from coffee. No sugar added, although I was tempted to have some honey with it.

Was good the whole day then was surprised with one of my favorite Latino dishes...Taquitos. I couldn't say no. So yummy and chicken filled. I was able to stop at 4 though so it wasn't all bad.

Day 49 Daily Stats:

Add caption
As you can see I didn't do that Spin Class I said I was going to do. I wasn't able to really get out of the house, it was just one of those days. At least I watched that food intake!

Today wasn't my best day. Started off with a headache, didn't even do anything just woke up. So it was a very quite day until about later.

Lunch was quite an adventure though. Got the idea from SweetToothSweetLife. The tuna just looked so yummy and luckily for me I had some!

I didn't have any celery, but I needed to have something crunchy, so I diced a small apple. It was the perfect hit for the crunchy need! Also got some spinach to add some 'green' to it. Carrots were of course a necessary as well as the egg!

Have you guys tried 'Triscuit'? I love the rosemary one, it is the best one from what I have tried so far. It just has the perfect blend for a creamy topping or something salty.

Perfect little bite sized lunch was served! It really filled me up, which I did have my doubts. I still have some more tuna for tomorrow and maybe even the next day! Yay for leftovers!!

Dinner was a little more planned out. I saw somewhere an idea for chicken and asparagus, I looked for it but I wasn't able to re-find it. As I was unable to find it...and I only glanced over the recipe, I had to improvise dinner. Here was what I was able to come up with;

I cut up some chicken thighs, cooked them with EVOO and garlic / thyme. Fresh asparagus was cooked in water and the penne pasta wasn't supposed to be there but it made a nice addition.

This was Hubby approved well except the asparagus. He really didn't like that vegetable but I thought it was something different. I am going to try it in some other ways.

What do you think? The pictures getting a little better? What do you think of asparagus?

Oh and I wanted to try something new for my blog. I am going to be posting my Daily Stats the next day. So like today's will be on tomorrow's post. I just am seeing that I am missing some steps or my sleep.

NeverEver's you guys have to let me know what you think about the day later idea!

Actual Labor Day: Day 42 + Month Goals

Hey NeverEver's!

How was your Labor Day? Mine was sun filled...and I did get burned. I really tried to avoid that by putting on sunscreen every hour and half but I still turned red.

It was a beach day! Yay...well not really because there is a 'Red Warning' out on the coast today, meaning that there is a very strong rip current. We were only allowed to go up to our knees on the water. The exceptions were the surfers and people with flippers.
The ocean was just waves and foam
Nevertheless the family and I had TONS of fun at the beach today. Sadly, the beach we went to, as we thought the beach would be PACKED because of the Labor Day, didn't allow cooking. So we just got a whole bunch of snacks. My snack of choice...Blue Diamond Nuts! Really filled me up!

The Family!
Did I mention that the water was cold? No? Well it was, so since we really couldn't go in that far I didn't go in that much...BUT I did keep my Body Media on and took 144 pictures! It was a workout to walk in the sand but it was worth it.

September Goals!
I started this blog on July 23rd not knowing what I was doing...if it would be read...or even if I would keep this blog up. However, I have gone 42 days on this blog! I have lost 10 pounds! I also have people reading this blog!

I have accomplished quite a bit. But I wanted to write down what I am reaching for. You all have been quite inspirational in getting me where I am working towards!

  • Lose another 10 pounds! I believe 10 pounds a month is a safe and yet still challenging amount to lose!
  • Cook Food on the Weekends! I really am trying to get into the swing of cooking food and getting in the healthy habit. It is completely do-able!
So I had to stop myself from adding on goal after goal...but I stopped here. I have over loaded myself with so many goals and I didn't accomplish anything. So smaller is better right here!

However, I can't forget my Daily Stats!

Walk on the beach is a GREAT workout!
Have to say...this month has started out amazing! By the way, I didn't forget about my Monday Weigh In...I just have to wait till tomorrow. Sorry NeverEver's!

So what are your goals for this month NeverEver's?

Labor Day Weekend! Day 39 - 41

Hey NeverEver's!

How has your Labor Day weekend been going? Mine has been going alternately busy and slow this whole time. Loved the slow times and had fun in the busy times!

So Friday the Hubby had off and he was amazing to me by taking me to my interview. I should know by Tuesday or Wednesday if I get my third and final interview.

However, the best part of Friday was the dinner with a old dear friend of mine! We also went to Downtown Disney, so much fun and lots of walking!

We had to stop by the Disney Candy Shop! I got us 2 candy apples. Mine, Mike Skully from 'Monster Inc.' which was a little sour...okay a LOT sour. So it was a small bite at a time, which was probably better in the long run!

Hubby got Jack Skellington from 'Nightmare Before Christmas'! Now this one was sweet and delicious! Have to say that this one went by faster then my Mike one did!

Friday Day 39 Stats:

Even with those candy apples!
I wasn't happy with myself on Friday. I didn't eat breakfast and because of the interview I didn't really eat until around 1ish. Needless to say I was not only starving but ate a few more fries from In-N-Out! Although I did get that protein burger! Have anyone tried it? I like it!

Saturday wasn't what I had planned. My original plan was to head to Fresh and Easy pick up my recipe ingredients that I was planning on cooking for the whole weekend.

But, of course it didn't turn out like that. Hubby and I got lazy and just ordered pizza from Domino's. Although it was yummy I made sure that I went walking afterwards!

Hubby and I finally rented out the Hunger Games, didn't get into it at all, and the Woman in Black, which wasn't as scary as I thought it would be!

Saturday Day 40 Stats:
Yay for walking after pizza!
Sunday was one of those fun days! It turned out that the family was celebrating baby Sebastian's first birthday! We don't really see that side of the family that much, as they live in Las Vegas. So it is always a fun time when we all meet up!

I forgot to charge my camera so I don't have any pictures. But today was a nice day in the pool. I am sure I have mentioned this before but I don't like that I can't add 'workouts' to my BodyMedia. So when I go swimming it doesn't show up on my 'Calories Burned'. That is something that seriously needs to be worked on.

Sunday Day 41 Stats:

Really wish I could add my swimming on this!

However, the BIG plans are for tomorrow. We are heading to the Beach with the family. So, I will have pictures but no stats really. Maybe a tan though? To carry me through the winter months? Although sun screen will be a must!

Hope you all have a great Labor Day! Hope your plans are filled with sun and laughter!

Hump Day: Walk in the Park: Day 37

Hey NeverEver's!

Today went by pretty fast...although I think that had something to do with me watching Star Wars! Yes I am a nerd...I think I may even have a certificate somewhere in the house!

I did have a wonderful lunch and as I said a good movie to keep me entertained! Although I think I enjoyed the grapes the most, besides the movie, they were so yummy and just picked at the right time!

Anyways, instead of hitting the gym for my H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training), as I was still feeling my BodyPump I went a cardio route. I do enjoy walking outside and I was treated to a full moon tonight!

It looked better in person!
Side note there was quite a few spider webs out there tonight. I seemed to jog / walk into every single one! Had to take a shower as soon as I got in the door!

On a personal note, I have an interview tomorrow morning, and also on Friday afternoon. So maybe Monday starts me with a new job?!? That would be really nice of course.

By 1 calorie
I didn't have that bad of a day! Especially with the family wanting fish, I don't do anything more then shrimp, and the Hubby and I went to go get cheeseburgers.

So how was your Hump Day? Do you like walking outside or would you prefer walking on the treadmill?

BodyPump Tuesday: Day 36 + Birthday Party

Hey NeverEver's!

I didn't think I was going to be able to post tonight, as I had a cousins birthday party! Yay for Wendii turning 19 and on her 2nd day at Cal State Dominguez! Did I mention that I was able to stay away from that delicious looking cake!
Birthday!!!!

You know I really don't like the pictures that my iTouch takes...I mean really why is it so blurry?? Grr! Okay, so I was on the rush as my Body Pump class ended at 8:25, started earlier then usual, so rushed home, quick shower and well my awesome outfit came out of it. Yes I am totally working it ^_^.

Able to get ready right after my gym time!
I think this is the first time I posted a pic of the Hubby! Have to say even in 4in heels I still am short. I wish there was a stretching device for the short people in the world!
Hubby and I
Have to say I do love having left overs for lunch! My Lemon Chicken was still really moist and yummy! So happy that it turned out so well and tasted so yummy after it was already in the fridge since Sunday! Yay I am getting better at this cooking thing!

Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!!
I had a great time at BodyPump tonight! Although I think that I might have put on a little to much weight on the bar. It was a little hard to finish the arm exercises but I did great on lunges! Might have to go a little less next Tuesday but I am still trying my best to make sure that each class challenges me!

Here is my Stats for Day 36:

Yay for 1056 calorie deficit!
I have to say that I had an awesome day! Yay for awesome days like today!

Oh on a side note, my 'Before' Pictures came in and I can not wait to show them to you guys tomorrow!

So NeverEver's, how do you handle birthdays? A free pass? or a little off the top? or nothing at all? Today was a nothing at all type day but there has been days that I have done a free pass.

Manic Weigh In Monday: Day 28 + Spinning

Hey NeverEver's!

I have to say...there is a reason why I avoided spin. I watched them all spinning on the bikes that go no where. Listened to the instructor say 'Turn the knob a turn and half, We will be feeling it this song' and watched while the people come out drenched but still smiling!

While watching I always said 'That is to hard' or 'You aren't at that level yet, workout some more and then you can go to that class'. Well today I decided I was tired of listening to that inner voice telling me I couldn't do it yet.

So before I was able to talk myself out of it, and I am a good talker outer, I signed myself up for Spin at 24 Hour Fitness. And to MAKE sure I went I made sure everyone who follows me on twitter knew I was going...I wasn't going to back out now that there was 'internet pressure' on me!

Well the results were in someways exactly what I thought it would be...VERY FREAKING HARD!! But I made it through. Only stopping 2x, and that was to get more water and I only went during a 'Water Break'. That is where you sit in the 'saddle' and drink water while still spinning. I wasn't always able to stay out of the 'saddle' but I made sure if I sat my rump down I still moved my legs!

I am proud to say that when I walked out of the class I was one of those 'drenched but still smiling' people!

Anyways back to my Weigh In Day!

Have to say...I didn't lose a pound last week. Although I really am not surprised as I was dealing with some lawyer issues and was traveling all over So. Cal. i have to say that I am more proud of the fact that I didn't GAIN any weight! Now that is something to celebrate!!

Here is my stats for Monday;

Not a bad day

I will say I am disappointed that I didn't hit my Calories Burned Target. But there is always tomorrow, and tomorrow is Les Mils Body Pump!

So I wanted to add a new thing here for Manic Weigh In Monday's...that is my weekly schedule, or what I am planning on doing! Here it is

  • Tuesday: Les Mils Body Pump, followed by 45 minutes on a cardio machine, not sure which one though
  • Wednesday: There is a new class called H.I.I.T or (High Intensity Interval Training) which I want to try. If there is no post on Wednesday night it means I didn't survive the class ^_^. Also looking for a new job, yay fun!
  • Thursday: I really want to do a Zumba day for Thursday, but it depends on the H.I.I.T class. I might make this day a walk in the park day!
  • Friday: My Wonderful Day of Rest!
  • Saturday: Also a sorta day of rest as the Hubby and I use this as our day together
  • Sunday: Gym workout with a buddy, never know what I will be doing ^_~

Okay NeverEver's, so what do you think about the 'Weekly Schedule'? What are your plans for this weeks work out?

Have a good night NeverEver's!

Daily Stats: Day 22 + 23

Hey NeverEver's!

Sorry about not being able to post yesterday my internet decided to circle the drain! But now it is up and running again and I can't tell you how happy I am!

So I had a wonderful dinner on Tuesday I walked the Ontario Mills, biggest mall here in California I believe, and got some new workout shoes! On Wednesday I was walking Wilshire trying to deal with the bank 0_o.

Here are my stats for Wednesday + My Dinner + My New Shoes!
No workout except for walking that big mall!
Now cooking isn't my thing, but I am trying to get more into it. I can not just workout and except the pounds to come off if I do not handle the other half, which is eating. So here is what I was able to come up with for Tuesday!
White rice + no sauce meatballs!
Now I wasn't going to get these shoes...because the first store that I found these at they were BRIGHT PINK! I like BRIGHT socks...so I can't have bright shoes it would just clash. So we went walking the whole mall until we came to Finish Line and found them in black! Oh YA!

Aren't they pretty!?! No more tying my shoes!
So for Wednesday Stats it was a little hard to add up. Hubby, a good friend and I went to Korean BBQ. Very popular in LA plus very delicious. Anyways, its a little hard adding it up but I think I got it all ^_^

Those KBBQ really takes a hit on you
I wasn't able to really workout today. I was in dealing with a bank issue so I was literally inside ALL day. But I tried to walk around as much as I could.

So tomorrow has to be better for working out. But as I ate at a KBBQ and its unlimited food I am pretty happy with my calorie intake!

Hope you Hump Day was better then mine NeverEver's!

Daily Stats: Day 21, Zumba + Weigh In

Hey NeverEver's!

How was your weekend? Even better how was your Manic Monday? I hope it was better then mine of course...at least in the working world. However, mine was great for a weigh in / workout day!

So my workout consisted of Zumba, it really did a number on me, and then catching up with an old friend on the phone while walking the neighborhood. Here are the results!

Not a bad day at all!

So my weight loss is now at a total of 8 pounds. I lost a total of 2.5 pounds since last week and half. I see my weight going down on the scale and it makes me want to workout even more!

I am also pretty proud of my dinner today. More greens then anything else

Alright NeverEver's, so how did you do on the weigh in? What did you have for dinner? Have you tried Zumba yet? I have to say that it is intense!

Have a good night look forward to writing more tomorrow.

Cut 100 calories from your day!

Hey NeverEver's!

Sorry about not being here yesterday, I literally just went home and feel asleep! Stats will be up later tonight!

You know that those little calories add up. 100 here, 300 here, and before you know it you are over your calorie intake for the day. I have been there and done that. But what I wanted was some simple things I could do, or swap, that would make a difference in my calorie intake. Here is what I found;

  • Eat your fruit instead of drinking it. Normal OJ is around 165 calories but an Orange is only 62 calories. Plus the orange peel makes your kitchen smell so nice!
  • Watch what you are drinking! Of course Soda's are bad for you, even those cute 100 calorie small cans. They can add up!
  • Getting a cone for your ice-cream. Get the sugar cone instead of the waffle one! (I was surprised by this one)
  • Having chicken again? Take off the skin. Not only will it save you 4.5 grams of fat and 50 calories.
  • Did you know 3 normal sugar packs for your coffee or tea is already 33 calories. Try going for the 0 calorie sweetener.
  •  Like to cook? Try to switch out the 'oil' in the cooking and replace it with applesauce!
  • Portion size is so important! 20 years ago a muffin was only 210 calories and 1.5 ounces, today it is 4 ounces and 500 calories!
  • Leaving the cheese off your sandwich or sub can save you 100 calories by itself.
  • Try the Salad Dressing 'Spray' instead of dipping it the salad into the dressing.
  • Want a burger? Try going bunless!
This is just a few ideas that you can use to start trimming those calories down. A few steps in the right direction is easier then changing everything all at once. Well for most people anyways! Here is a few more sites where you can look up even more ideas for saving 100 calories or more;

So what do you change NeverEver's when you started on your Healthy Life Choice?

Healthy Food: Fire up YOUR Metabolism

Hey NeverEver's!

So I am horrible at my eating. I am slowly getting better but I always need help and motivation. As always this blog is about my trip to getting healthy. And I usually go back and re-read my posts to get some great motivation or make sure that I am still following the plan or doing the same steps.

So now today, I am planning to write how to Fire Up my Metabolism. This is important because I really have no idea what to eat, expect the basics. You know the rule...The more calories you eat it requires you to burn more calories to lose the weight.

Here is what I found;
  • Eat more protein. Protein is the building block of muscle. Muscle burns fat...so therefore muscle is good!
  • Don't forget your breakfast. You want to try something that is slow for your stomach to digest so you feel fuller longer. Try to mix some lean proteins, complex carbs and healthy fats.
  • Drink that cup of joe! But here is the tricky part...you really have to drink it black. A study published in the journal of 'Physiology & Behavior' found that the average metabolic rate of people who drank caffeinated coffee increased by 16% over that of those who drank decaf.
  • We all know this one...drink water! Did you know that if drank 8, 12 ounce glasses a day burned more higher metabolism then those that only drank 4 or less.
  • If your not a coffee drinker try some green tea. Adding maybe 2-4 cups a day can even burn an actual 50 calories a day.
  • Try to choose Organic Produce when you go out shopping. You don't want to be filling up on pesticides. Can't afford it? Try heading here to www/foodnews.org/fulllist for the most and least contaminated foods.
  • Like your chilli peppers? I don't but I hear that it is great raising your flight or fight senses which in turn gets that metabolism boiling!

Want some other ideas? Try these sites;

Hope you have got some good ideas on how to fire up that body! So NeverEver's what are you going to try first?

Day 8: Les Mills #2

Hey NeverEver's!

I know I am doing back to back posts. Sorry! But I really wanted to get that Snack of the Day post out since I haven't done it in so long...and of course I HAVE to do my Daily Stats.

Daily Stats for me are extremely important. It is my way of showing the world that I either succeeded, failed, or did so-so. There is no way I can actually lie on these posts (I do not have photoshop...every one of these pics is done in Paint...Yes I am a ballin Paint user) and I do what to show my progress from NeverEverBeenSkinny to NeverEverUnHealthyAgain!

So as some of you read before I started a new job today. Now while that is an interesting experience in itself, there is nothing like the first day of anything, I had to get back to the Les Mills Body Pump class at my 24 Hour Fitness Compton Sport!

As the survivor of 2, yes 2, classes I can happily report that this class was easier then the first one. I still had to take my breaks, and I still hate those push-ups, but it didn't hurt my arm as much when we had to lift the barbell to the 'meaty' part of our backs. I was also able to remember the moves so I didn't have to take the whole class with my neck in a weird position watching the instructor! However, I did feel that position in my wrists...which means I need to keep them straight. I will keep working on that!

So without further talking here is my Daily Stats for Day 8:

I would have never believed days like this could have existed!
This is the type of day that I want to remember for when I don't want to workout! This feeling of accomplishment!

So NeverEver's this is my day stats. How did you do today? Are you happy as well?

Snack of the Day! Protein & Smoothies

Hello NeverEver's!

How was your Tuesday? I hope it was as great as mine. The new job went great and I am looking forward to turning that office upside down and sideways to get it organized!

Anyways, I wanted to share with you my Snack of the Day. I find these at Ralphs, and I am not sure if it is available in other grocery stores. You can of course get it at Jamba Juice...but I think its awesome to make it at home. Besides, this is a perfect after the gym, you need to get something in your system but can't think you can take a bite of anything drink!

Well this drink and the other flavors as well. So you gotta try them all! (if anyone got that you get internet karma!)

My 2 favorite flavors!

Okay so I also add something extra to the Jamba Juice smoothies home edition. Its my Protein Powder. This is the one I use;

Now to tell the truth I wasn't sure about how I would feel using 'Protein Powder'. I mean I didn't want to bulk up, and I was happy not using in. In fact, I got it as a hand me down from my parents, it sat in my kitchen for MONTHS! But, I finally got tired of looking at it and decided to do some research.

So I found that I didn't mind the taste, at least not in these smoothies, and although it doesn't replace a major meal (not one for that), it does feel me up so I don't crash before lunch if I have it for Breakfast or it satisfies me after a workout.

By the way, all of this is only 433 calories and 25 protein. Not a bad way to get that in!

That is todays Snack of the Day NeverEver's! Are you gonna try it?

Day 7: A Zumba Workout and Weigh In Day

Hey NeverEver's!

I hope you all had an awesome weekend and an even better Manic Monday! So as it is Monday I want to do 2 things especially today.

First, I want to thank everyone who is reading this blog. So far it has been 1 week of writing and working out! It has been amazing see the stats go up and figuring out how and what to write. Thank each and everyone of you!

Second, today is my Weigh In Day! So as you all know I started off at 213 and with my weigh in today I am at...I wish I could add drum rolls to this as a sound track, but anyways...211.5! I am so happy that I went over my expected 1 pound a week and went to 1.5!

Okay so my workout today was Zumba Fitness at 24 HourFitness Compton Sport. Let me say...they just don't dance in there. They MOVE! I do plan to do a post ALL about Zumba and how it took the fitness world by storm not to long ago. But for now...I will say that I will be feeling this cardio workout for a while! I also can't wait to do it again.
Also, before my Zumba class started, I had to get there an hour early just to reserve a spot, I went to do some Weights. Just working my arms with the machines and dumbbells. So today was an awesome day with a perfect cardio burn and some weights.

So here is my stats for today;

Zumba really kicked my Calorie Burn WAYYY Up!

I am sure you can see why I am happy with today's workout and stats!

Just as an update on my personal life. I am starting a new job tomorrow, Tuesday, but I see no reason for it to effect this blog. In fact I see myself working out more because less then a mile from where I work, Huntington Beach, is a 24 Hour Fitness!

Okay NeverEver's...when was your best day ever on a workout? or Healthy Eating? Did it make you want to do the same thing the next day? Or did you push yourself to hard that day that you just couldn't get up the next? I really want to hear from you!

Night all NeverEver's!

Day 6: Gym and Walk

Hey NeverEver's!

How was your Sunday? I hope some of you were watching the Olympics 2012. I loved watching the Team USA Woman's Beach Volleyball. Man did they look awesome and play an even better game. It made me want to head out to the beach, and I am NOT a beach person!

Okay so I am REALLY proud of myself today and what I have been able to do. As you know yesterday I was out all night at the Oban Festival and then to a friends house to play some video games, yes yes I play video games. But I went home at a not so decent time just to make sure I would wake up for my Gym Date and head to the Downtown L.A 24Hour Fitness.

So I get to the gym and he pushes me and I push him...until we get to the final cardio...20 minutes on a Stationary Bike. We choose this because the rowers are for once taken and we want to see the 400m Swimming on NBC Olympics 2012. Let me say this...those 20 minutes were hell on my @ss! I am only 4'11" and the seat was ALL the way down for my short legs and it still wasn't right. I should have never stayed on it...but since I was on...well I was going to finish that last 20 minutes!

After the gym I head home, work on this wonderful blog a little bit, played some Zelda Skyward Sword with the Hubby, ate some Subway...and felt like I had so much energy! After thinking about it...and EVEN considering going to the gym for a 2nd time today...I decided that I wanted to go walk!

And here is the result of everything I did today!

Very Proud of myself today!
So NeverEver's are you happy with how your Sunday went? Is there something you will be doing better next time? Something you want to do again?

That is it for now NeverEver's!

Snack of the Day: Cottage with a Peach

Hey NeverEver's!

So today's snack of the day has to be extremely healthy yet filling...because I was a genius and forgot my lunch at home! Thank goodness I left this snack here from yesterday at work.
Not mine...but doesn't it look yummy?!?

I really am not centered today, because not only do I forget my lunch at home...but before I can take a picture of my snack, it wasn't as nice as the one above, I eat all of the delicious snack. So here is where the picture comes from Here!

Now I use 2% cottage cheese. I never really use any other. For 1 cup, which is A LOT, it is only 194 calories. Of course a peach, great water fruit, is only 59 calories.

So for a yummy, cooling, healthy snack, unless your lactose intolerant, have some Cottage Cheese and a Peach!

Dinner with Friends

Hey NeverEvers,

So I just recently faced an issue that we have all faced once or twice before. The dreaded, yet we always want, dinner with friends.

We want to go out, we want to have a good time, yet we also do not want to derail ALL the great things we did in the past just for one night. And we want to avoid...at ALL costs the dreaded 'Thoughts of Shame'

You know those thoughts, the ones where "Oh I should have gotten water" or "Why did I need to eat that". Well I am not at all perfect in this, but I just accomplished a wonderful dinner with a friend, we even shared a desert, that was only 718 calories at the end of it!

Dinner with Friends and still LOVE yourself in the morning!
So here is what I had at TGI Fridays!

  • Appetizer: The Tuscan Spinach Dip.
    • How did I save it? We split it and talked. The more we talked the less we ate and before we knew it we had only 1/2 of it between the both of us and the nice waitress took the rest of it away
    • Total Calories - 278
  • Main Entree: Petite Sirloin Streak (pictured above) with Non-Buttered Corn on the Cobb and Steamed Broccoli
    •  How did I make this one work? Well first the petite steak is only 370 by itself, which isn't bad, but I made sure to eat my vegetables first. By the time I was done with them I could only eat about 1/4 of the steak. The other 3/4 is for lunch!
    • Total Calories - 201
  • Drink: Beer.
    • I just made sure to order the 16oz and have at least 1 glass of water with it so I wouldn't want another beer.
    • Total Calories - 153
  • Dessert: Salted Caramel Cake
    • This one was tough, or would have been if I wasn't already fully with my veggies and steak. So by the end of it, we again shared and I only had the ice cream.
    • Total Calories - 86
So this all added up to a yummy, yet I won't yell at myself in the morning, dinner of only 718! Now that is what I call good times!

So NeverEver's go out and eat with your friends and don't forget to live a little!
